Cristian García Ruiz

Cristian Garcia Ruiz graduated in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Valencia and got his MSc in Biomedicine at Lund University. During the master’s studies he started to specialize in Cancer Research through his participation in the preparatory programme in Stem Cell and Cancer Biology at Lund University.

From his previous experiences, highlights his participation in a study of new therapeutic targets for high-risk neuroblastoma. Later, he performed his master thesis in the field of acute leukemia and started to specialize in the use of in vivo models to functionally study the mutations described in patients.

Currently, he is a predoctoral researcher in the Hematology Research Group funded by the Spanish Association for Cancer Research (AECC). His PhD project focuses on the functional study of mutations that affect RNA maturation in the pathology of myelodysplastic syndromes, a preleukemic condition.
