
Jaime Sanz Caballer
Jaime Sanz is consultant of the Department of Hematology and coordinator of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the University Hospital La Fe in Valencia, Spain, as well as assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Valencia. He studied his medical degree at the Universities of Valencia, Strasbourg and Brussels (1994-2000). He trained as a specialist in hematology at the University Hospital La Fe and completed specific training in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit at the Hammersmith Hospital in London, led by Dr. Jane Apperley, where he held the position of Coordinator of Bone Marrow Transplantation for a year. He was chair of the umbilical cord blood subcommittee of the GETH and currently is co-chair of the alternative donors subcommittee of the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the EBMT. He currently is coordinator of the Adult Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Program at University Hospital La Fe, with a notable activity, particularly in allogeneic transplantation from related and unrelated donors in adult patients with hematological malignancies. He is currently a reviewer for several high-profile medical journals, including all top hematology journals, and has authored over 75 peer-reviewed papers, several book chapters, and in excess of 110 abstracts at national and international meetings
